Bucha Brewhouse & Bistro opened its doors on September 29th, 2018 in the Grassroots District of Downtown Princeton. Owner Kayla Alred has since then envisioned encouraging a culture in West Virginia that empowers citizens to take control of their health and well-being by offering fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
In June of 2018, Bucha Brewhouse & Bistro contracted Starry Eyes Media to help grow a brand that represented what it is to be healthy in the mountain state while offering unique options that you can’t find anywhere else.
Addressing a Health Crisis
West Virginia has the highest adult obesity rate in the nation, and the second highest obesity rate for youth ages 10 to 17. When it comes down to it, there aren’t a lot of healthy and affordable options when dining out in our wild and wonderful state. That’s one of the many reasons that Bucha Brewhouse & Bistro was formed. Owner Kayla Alred had a dream of brewing her own kombucha to encourage healthy living. Our team worked hard to create branding to reflect the mission that she had in mind, adding touches of tea leaves and bright colors. The “B” is the perfect size for labels, bottles, and icons.
Capturing The Product
Food photography can be tricky, especially when capturing fresh food and not a wax display. When the food is created right in front of you, you only have so long to catch the right photo that includes the steam and the heat of the moment.
When creating the website for Bucha Brewhouse & Bistro, photography of Kayla’s unique style was a must. With a menu that changes each day, we didn’t know what we would be photographing until the arrival. The results? Well, they speak for themselves (and yeah, we took every photo on this page using fresh food).

This process allows us to have total control over the branding instead of working with a third party company to ensure everything stays consistent, sleek, and modern.
A Revolving Menu Deserves An Astonishing Website
When Kayla approached us about offering a website that allowed her to post her weekly menu and her house-made kombucha selections, we hopped on the opportunity right away. The result ended up with a beautiful mixture of food photography, graphic design, and website development. Each week, when Kayla plans a daily menu, she logs on to her website and posts the menu. Her website does the work of sorting the menu posts and replacing the older ones so visitors automatically see the new ones. This is also true of her latests kombucha brews. The website gives Bucha a compelling way to share their fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with their community.
